Q & A

Frequently asked questions. Please have a look before contacting us.

Can I reserve a time for the private bath in advance?
Private baths are reserved in order of check-in. We are very sorry, but we do not take time reservations in advance. The rooftop open-air bath “Tsukimi no Yu” and the indoor bath “Ichi no Yu” can be used privately free of charge.
How does Kinokuniya differ from its sister inn Oyado Hiruta?
Kinokuniya has no sea view, but its rooms are more spacious than those at Oyado Hiruta. Kinokuniya is about a 1-minute walk from the sea.
Oyado Hiruta has some rooms with a sea view and some without. It stands right on the seafront and is an adults-only hideaway that does not accept guests aged 12 and under.
Is the cuisine different from that of Oyado Hiruta?
Kinokuniya and Oyado Hiruta serve different Japanese seafood cuisine.
Can both breakfast and dinner be served in our room?
Only dinner is served in your room.
Each of the seven rooms is said to be different. Can we request a particular room?
We are sorry, but we are unable to accept requests for a particular room.
Is there parking?
Free outdoor parking is available (no height restriction).
You seem to be fully booked far ahead…?
We accept reservations up to three months in advance. Dates three months ahead become bookable at 10:00 on the morning of the 1st of each month.
(Examples)
29 May → bookable through 31 August
1 June → bookable through 30 September
Can I check availability by email?
Yes. Please email us at [email protected] with your dates and the number of guests. Reservations can be made through the booking page on this site.
Can we see the sea from the room?
The sea cannot be seen from the guest rooms, but Katsuyama Beach is about a 1-minute walk away. A promenade runs along the shore; why not take an evening stroll in your yukata?
Are the baths natural hot springs?
Yes. All the baths in the inn are natural hot springs. The Awa hot spring water, which rises from 600 m underground, is a natural alkaline simple spring (sodium bicarbonate and metasilicic acid). The reddish-brown water keeps you warm long after bathing and is popular as a “skin-beautifying” spring.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Free Wi-Fi is available in the guest rooms and around the lounge.
